We are a small group of students in the INDG 4100 “INDIGENOUS KNOWLEDGE” class. This course examines the rich complex nature of Indigenous Knowledge and attempts to allow for a holistic learning experience that addresses the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual aspects of Indigenous Knowledge into the daily lives of students.
When coming together to create a presentation about Indigenous art we decided utilize the vision of the course in our approach and ask ourselves how Indigenous Knowledge pertaining to art could be accessed in our immediate lives? We ended up looking to the surfaces that construct our very learning environments in the Enweying building and to the teachers represented there, who offered their knowledge to us each day in strong visual languages that speak of the past, the present, and the future of Indigenous Peoples.
